I-CUBED TO RESELL KEYHOLE'S EARTHVIEWER TECHNOLOGY

i-cubed showcases Keyhole's EarthViewer at ESRI International User's Conference

San Diego, CA, July 14, 2001 -- Keyhole Corporation, a rich mapping software and service provider for location-critical applications, and i-cubed, a geographic data provider in Fort Collins, CO, today announced the formation of a strategic partnership. Under the terms of the agreement, i-cubed will become a reseller of Keyhole's EarthSystem™, allowing delivery of i-cubed products over the Internet via a co-branded version of Keyhole's EarthViewer 3D™ streaming geospatial browser. This powerful combination of leading edge visualization technology and seamless continental satellite imagery was displayed at the ESRI User's Conference in San Diego, CA, July 9-13, 2001.

The partnership between Keyhole and i-cubed offers GIS professionals a turnkey solution for instant access to i-cubed's entire ImageMap USA™ mosaic online through Keyhole's EarthSystem solution. EarthSystem provides a seamless, imagery-based, global 3D model of the earth, fused with digital street maps, points of interest, business listings, and customer-hosted, application specific data. Keyhole's EarthViewer 3D client software allows non-technical users to fluidly interact with massive geospatial databases through PCs and Internet-enabled wireless devices. The co-branded application will incorporate i-cubed's ImageMap USA mosaic, a seamless, digital mosaic produced from nearly 450 recent Landsat 7 scenes. ImageMap USA mosaic is the most up-to-date, highest resolution, country-wide image of the US ever produced.

"EarthViewer is the best way for people to experience our imagery in its entirety. Customers can view details of the whole country as if they were literally flying over it, there's really no other way to access this amount of data, this quickly"; said Rob Keith, Product Manager of Instant Imagery at i-cubed"This technology allows our customers to publish their GIS data to their whole organization in a way anyone can understand"

This partnership gives i-cubed a visually stunning solution for displaying their imagery products, which will provide the company with new service offerings and marketing opportunities. Keyhole will receive updates to the imagery as they become available, and will work with i-cubed to improve continental resolution and map other areas around the world.

"i-cubed was the first company to step forward and map the entire United States to this resolution. The resulting image is fantastic, making it an ideal baselayer for Keyhole's EarthSystem, the first realistic, online 3D 'Digital Earth' which will revolutionize mapping as we know it," said David Lorenzini, Director of Content for Keyhole. "ESRI users create and publish more geospatial information than anyone -- By moving this complex GIS data to the masses, we help people communicate visually, in a way that anyone can understand. When i-cubed's data is combined with our other geographic layers and customer specific information, the result is a personalized, realistic visual environment that lays the world at your feet."
