ImageAmerica, Inc. is Awarded Orthoimagery Project in Hamilton County TN
February 25, St. Louis, MO -- 2001 ImageAmerica Inc. announced that it had been awarded a contract to provide its
TerraSource®, DirectOrtho Update product to Hamilton County TN. ImageAmerica
was notified that following a public bidding process its proposal had been
accepted by the County. Tom Maher, Chief Operating Officer of ImageAmerica said,
"Hamilton County joins a growing list of municipal governments who have
embraced the benefits of our new technology products. Using our Direct Digital
Aerial Camera system we have already collected imagery, and with the abilities
inherent in our automated orthophoto processing system we will provide new
orthophotos for Hamilton County in a few weeks."
Al Butler, Director of GIS for Hamilton County said, “ImageAmerica has developed
an innovative process that starts with a new digital image rather than the
traditional photographic images used by other firms. The process depends on our
existing digital elevation models (DEMs), which were developed as part of the
State pilot project for property mapping in 1997, and reconciliation with
existing digital orthophotographs. The result is reduced cost for updating our
GIS base map.”
"TerraSource products provide the advantages of wide-area Direct Digital
aerial collection, with the fast turnaround speed provided by automated
processing," continued Maher. "As a result, we can provide new,
high-resolution, mapping imagery on an annual basis to customers, at a price they
find quite attractive."
ImageAmerica has developed and operates the worlds only commercial panoramic
direct digital aerial camera system. The Company provides near real-time
proprietary imagery and processed products under the TerraSource® brand name, for
government and municipal customers.
