UCLID Software and ESRI form Business Partnership

Award-winning conversion technology coming to the ESRI platform

Madison, WI – Today UCLID Software, maker of IcoMap conversion and mapping software, announced that it has signed a Business Partner agreement with ESRI Software. Under terms of this agreement, UCLID will develop data conversion and basemap maintenance software for the ESRI platform.

“Our unique point-and-click technologies eliminate the conversion bottleneck that plagues basemap creation. Soon ESRI users will be able to work with our award-winning tools from within the ESRI platform,” explained UCLID President and CEO Curt Szymanski.

UCLID develops the patented Mathematical Content Recognition™ (MCR™) technology found in IcoMap software. This Text-to-Vector™ technology converts bearings, distances and other survey data into parcel, vector maps suitable for the cadastral layer of a GIS.

“ESRI’s software tools are known for handling the ‘Field-to-Fabric’ process of integrating field measurements into a GIS. UCLID’s technologies handle the other half of the equation - the ‘Land Records-to-Fabric™’ process,” continued Mr. Szymanski. “We have the tools for quickly and accurately moving all of the paper maps, legal descriptions and land records out of file cabinets and into a GIS.”

“Because of the NILS project, more communities find themselves faced with the prospect of moving from paper records to a GIS,” claims UCLID Vice President of Software Development. “We’ve proven that our software can help speed up the conversion process. Moving our patented technology to the ESRI platform simply makes sense for the thousands of professionals who create and maintain basemaps.”

UCLID expects to release an ESRI version of its IcoMap software later this year. “Currently, ESRI users can buy IcoMap software that is platform-independent. We will provide free upgrades for any user that wants to upgrade to the ESRI platform once the ESRI version is released,” comments UCLID Vice President of Sales and Marketing Joe Hanousek.

Based in Madison, Wisconsin, UCLID creates technologies and solutions for rapidly converting paper-based land records into survey-accurate digital files. Designed for title insurance professionals, surveyors, utility companies, and GIS professionals, IcoMap eliminates the tedium and intense labor involved in data conversion. UCLID’s IcoMap software received the Governor’s Best of State New Product Award from the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers.
