Motorola Awards AVeL-TECH With Automatic Vehicle Location

LAVAL, Quebec, March 29, 2001--Motorola has awarded AVeL-TECH with an Automatic
Vehicle Location contract for the City of Columbus, GA Police Department, a Division of Columbus Consolidated
Government.
AVeL-TECH will be providing the City of Columbus Police Department with AVeL-NET Base(TM), AVeL-NET
RadioGATE(TM), and AVeL-NET mapping for 54 of its 79 police vehicles being tracked.
The Columbus Consolidated Government's dispatch center serves all the Muscogee County Police, Fire and Ambulance
Departments, dispatching approximately 198,000 calls and handling approximately 247,000 emergency 9-1-1 calls per
year.
