Arc Second Announces PocketCAD Distribution Agreement; TAK

DULLES, Va., April 30, 2000--Arc Second, Inc., a leader in the field of advanced
measurement and positioning products and mobile CAD software solutions, today announced that TAK Systems
Corporation will be the exclusive distributor in Japan of the company's PocketCAD(R) PRO software.
TAK Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of Takenaka Corporation, Japan's oldest architecture, engineering and
construction firm. Takenaka Corporation has yearly sales of $9 billion, 20 international offices, the largest construction
R&D laboratory in the world and over 1,000 architects in their design department. TAK Systems is headquartered in
Osaka, Japan.
PocketCAD is the only fully functional CAD software for Windows(R) powered Pocket PC's and mobile devices and
offers a comprehensive feature set making data creation, viewing, markup and redlining simple, easy and effective.
PocketCAD reads DWG(TM) and DXF files and is compatible with nearly all desktop CAD software packages,
including AutoCAD(R) Release 12 through 2000i.

Arc Second is partnering with TAK Systems Corporation to develop a Japanese version of PocketCAD, to be
commercially available in Japan mid-May 2001. Arc Second is also working with a number of international partners to
make PocketCAD available in other native languages.
Current PocketCAD customers include architects, engineering project managers, space planners, job-site inspectors,
facility managers, manufacturing engineers, product designers, maintenance personnel and other highly mobile users of site
and facility design information.
Arc Second develops, manufactures and markets 3D-Intelligence(TM) (3D-I) measurement and tracking products and
mobile CAD software solutions. Arc Second markets its products to the construction, architecture, manufacturing, product
design, forensics, aerospace, and movie special effects sectors.
Customers include Boeing, Disney, Lockheed Martin and NASA. Founded in 1990, Arc Second is a privately held
