Pixxures Announces Online Library Aerial Photography And Satellite Imagery For Business

Online Image Library Provides Powerful Mapping Tools For Variety of Industries

ARVADA, Colo., May 29, 2001 - Pixxures, Inc., the world’s largest online provider of digital mapping products, services and online delivery capabilities, today announced the launch of its new Image Library, the most comprehensive archive of aerial and satellite imagery available online. The imagery, covering major metropolitan areas is available at .

“Digital imagery is an incredibly useful tool for displaying or analyzing almost anything of a geographical nature,” said Brian Webster, president and chief executive officer. “Unfortunately, it has traditionally been hard to find and expensive to acquire. With Pixxures’ online Image Library, we are changing the way people think about imagery - and are making it more accessible to anyone in any business who wants to use it. We anticipate the day when imagery and related products become everyday tools in mainstream business.”

Pixxures’ Image Library simplifies the process of finding imagery. All a user needs to do is type in his or her address, county, zip code or major intersection and imagery for that location is displayed in a viewer. Once it is displayed, the user can order a poster of the area, a CD or a digital file that is sent to the user’s email address.

Pixxures’ 20 terabytes of imagery makes it the largest online library. The Image Library already houses imagery of the entire U.S. as viewed from the Landsat 7 satellite. This imagery, with a resolution of 15 meters, is adequate to view large regions. In addition, many major metro areas are available in one-meter resolution. By July, most of the U.S. will be available in one-meter resolution imagery. Imagery is typically used in urban planning, land use analysis, development, site selection, property valuations and a myriad of other applications.

In late summer, Pixxures’ Image Library will hold not only imagery, but other useful mapping information as well, such as street maps and topographic maps for countries around the world. Visitors to pixxures.com will be able to select from an assortment of mapping information and imagery and “build their own” maps online.

Several companies have already lined up to establish portal connections and subscriptions to Pixxures’ Image Library. This service gives users unlimited access to the library directly through their sites. The first of these customers will be announced in June.

Pixxures offers imagery in poster format for as little as $19.99 for an 8’ ½” x 11’ or $49.99 for a 2’ x 2’ image in full color. CD and e-mail file delivery also are available. Pixxures is the world’s largest provider of digital mapping products, services and online delivery capabilities. Located in Arvada, Colorado and Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the company offers a comprehensive line of posters and digitally delivered data, with over 20 terabytes of mapping information coming online by July. Pixxures’ Image Library can be accessed at
