HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Oct 31, 2001 -- Intergraph Corporation (Nasdaq:INGR) today reported operating results for its third quarter ended September 30, 2001.

For the quarter, the Company reported an operating income of $2.2 million and net income of $1.2 million on revenues of $127.1 million. Net income per share was $.03 on a basic per share basis ($.02 per share on a fully diluted basis), including $.01 per share (both basic and fully diluted basis) earned from the sale of assets. Systems and services orders for the quarter were $78.1 million.

For the nine months ended September 30, the Company reported an operating income of $6.4 million and net income of $8.0 million on revenues of $399.0 million. Net income per share was $.16 (both basic and fully diluted basis), including $.11 per share on a basic per share basis ($.10 per share on a fully diluted basis) earned from the sale of assets. Systems and services orders for the first nine months of the year were $286.7 million.

Intergraph Chairman and CEO Jim Taylor said of the results, "Our stated goals for 2001 were to sustain profitability, strengthen our balance sheet, and complete the restructuring of our international offices so they can support the independent, vertical businesses. I am pleased to report that we have made significant progress in reaching these goals. For the third consecutive quarter, the company and its five independent business units are profitable. Our balance sheet improved this quarter as cash increased by $19 million to $115 million." Taylor added, "We continue to be concerned about the economic downturn, which was compounded by the September 11 attacks. Nevertheless, we believe that our fourth quarter will see revenue and profit similar to third quarter."

Intergraph will provide an online, real-time webcast and rebroadcast of its third quarter conference call to be held today, October 31, 2001. The live broadcast will be available online at www.intergraph.com beginning at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. The webcast replay will be available shortly after the conference call and will be available online for 30 days.
