Intergraph Reports Operating Results for Third Quarter 2001

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Oct 31, 2001 -- Intergraph Corporation (Nasdaq:INGR) today reported operating results for its third
quarter ended September 30, 2001.
For the quarter, the Company reported an operating income of $2.2 million and net income of $1.2 million on revenues of $127.1 million.
Net income per share was $.03 on a basic per share basis ($.02 per share on a fully diluted basis), including $.01 per share (both basic
and fully diluted basis) earned from the sale of assets. Systems and services orders for the quarter were $78.1 million.
For the nine months ended September 30, the Company reported an operating income of $6.4 million and net income of $8.0 million on
revenues of $399.0 million. Net income per share was $.16 (both basic and fully diluted basis), including $.11 per share on a basic per
share basis ($.10 per share on a fully diluted basis) earned from the sale of assets. Systems and services orders for the first nine months
of the year were $286.7 million.
Intergraph Chairman and CEO Jim Taylor said of the results, "Our stated goals for 2001 were to sustain profitability, strengthen our balance
sheet, and complete the restructuring of our international offices so they can support the independent, vertical businesses. I am pleased to
report that we have made significant progress in reaching these goals. For the third consecutive quarter, the company and its five
independent business units are profitable. Our balance sheet improved this quarter as cash increased by $19 million to $115 million."
Taylor added, "We continue to be concerned about the economic downturn, which was compounded by the September 11 attacks.
Nevertheless, we believe that our fourth quarter will see revenue and profit similar to third quarter."
