Herndon, Va., 27 November 2001 – ISTAR Americas Inc. has named Christopher
Gilliam as Manager of Federal Defense & Security Markets. Gilliam will be
responsible for developing markets for ISTAR among various U.S. Federal
agencies and service commands. He will report to Mark Eustis, ISTAR America’s
Vice President of Sales & Marketing, who recently joined ISTAR to head up a
rapidly growing sales and marketing team.
Before joining ISTAR, Gilliam worked as Federal Sales Manager for Space
Imaging of Thornton, Colo., where he developed and serviced the National
Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) account. Prior to Space Imaging, Gilliam
spent more than a decade at Intergraph Corp. of Huntsville, Ala., responsible
for selling digital and hardcopy map production and data warehousing systems
to government agencies and the private sector.
"With 12 years of professional experience selling technical solutions to all
levels of government and private industry, Chris is well connected in the
defense and security communities and understands the geospatial requirements
of these organizations," said Mark Eustis. "His background and experience
will help us broaden the market for ISTAR products in agencies that need
timely and accurate imagery and 3D surface models."
With headquarters in Herndon, Virginia, ISTAR Americas, Inc. introduced the
HRSC airborne imaging scanner technology to North America last year. Since
then, the company has developed an archive of high-accuracy, one-meter
‘TrueOrtho™’ images and one-meter-accurate 3D surface models for over 2/3 of
the most populous U.S. cities. Digital data for each of these cities is now
available for purchase. The company is expanding and renewing its archive of
pre-processed data to include all of the major metropolitan regions in the
U.S. and Canada, and will update these data sets on an ongoing basis.
