KANSAS CITY, MO --- New technological advances by GBA Master Series, Inc. and Sokkia Corporation will combine a solution for infrastructure management software and mapping/GIS data acquisition for public works and water resources agencies nationwide. The advances enable field crews to gather accurate GPS coordinate values and enter attribute data while inspecting a variety of infrastructure assets.
Data acquired from the field can be imported from Sokkia's Axis3 GPS Receiver with IMap mobile GPS/GIS software operating on Pocket PC hardware into the GBA Master SeriesT suite of infrastructure management software applications. The development of field-to-office data integration serves to enhance infrastructure asset reporting, an agency's response to customer calls, and promotes efficiency in management of maintenance and rehabilitation activities.
