Dayton, Ohio (September 26, 2001)… Woolpert LLP was awarded two contracts from
Sarasota County, Florida, to establish a utility GIS implementation plan for the county's
Environmental Services and Public Works business centers. These projects will consist
of interviews, a workshop to prioritize the needs that will be gathered during the
interviews, and the delivery of a detailed set of recommendations for each business
center.
Documentation of the county's existing conditions will consist of a variety of steps
including: evaluation of the current map data, who updates it, capturing work flow in an
organizational level, and establishing their stated needs for a GIS. This includes the
learning tools they have available, personnel and skills available in their organization to
manage and maintain a GIS, and what type of data gathering and maintenance will need
to take place.
Woolpert LLP is a professional engineering/architectural consulting firm providing expertise in
facilities planning and design, geographic information systems/information technology,
photogrammetry, site/civil design, surveying/global positioning systems, transportation, and water
management.
