The Webraska-Sidewinder joint product will be available to fleet managers as well as to telecom operators, telematics service providers and system integrators wishing to offer advanced internet-based fleet management solutions to their customer bases.

The Webraska-Sidewinder product is an end-to-end internet-based fleet management solution based on Sidewinder's journey optimization software range combined with Webraska's server-based Wireless Navigation PlatformTM. The Webraska platform allows the calculation and preparation in several milliseconds of itineraries optimized with traffic information and navigation instructions together with the proximity information requested by the end-user. The two companies expect the joint product to be launched before year-end.

The product will feature: Internet access to vehicle, driver and load status; the possibility for dispatchers to track vehicles and optimize vehicle journeys with traffic information, and provide new instructions, itineraries and turn-by-turn navigation to drivers.

Bruno Bourguet, General Manager of Webraska Automotive, stated: "We expect this joint development to allow fleet operators to significantly increase the productivity, security and efficiency of their drivers. The cost will be significantly reduced as compared to traditional fleet management solutions thus allowing to address a market that could not previously afford IT solutions for fleet management. Furthermore, thanks to the combined offering, Webraska is now in a position to deliver internet-based emergency and security applications worldwide".

Charles F. Short III, Sidewinder's Chairman & CEO stated "The Sidewinder/Webraska Jointly Developed Product will offer the Telematic services market a business solution and value proposition second to none for commercial fleet managers.
