Introductory Pricing Aimed at Professional Surveyors
(Madison, WI) October 17, 2001 - For a limited time, UCLID Software is
offering the AutoCAD 2000 plug-in version of its award-winning cadastral
mapping software at nearly half the usual price. From now through December
31, 2001--or until the first 500 licenses are sold--IcoMap® 3 for AutoCAD will
be available for only $500, a savings of nearly 50% off the standard base
price of $999 for a single-user license.
"Professional land surveyors and others who require accurate parcel maps,
yet are sensitive to the cost of new software, now have the opportunity to
experience the benefits of point-and-click, digital vector mapping," said
Joe Hanousek, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "IcoMap was invented by
a Wisconsin land surveyor, and surveyors immediately understand its value
when they see it," Hanousek noted. "With this special introductory offer, we
hope to place this product in the price range of even the smallest surveying
companies, many of whom are long-time AutoCAD users."
IcoMap 3 for AutoCAD is a full-featured, parcel mapping toolkit that
supports land records conversion via three methods: heads-up digitizing,
COGO and its own patented Text-to-Vector® conversion process.
Text-to-Vector, also known as Mathematical Content Recognition (MCR®), is a
unique method of converting scanned or ASCII text into accurate vector lines
and curves. After the user selects the text to be recognized, IcoMap
automatically highlights the mathematical information in the form of
bearings, distances and curve data. The user simply clicks on each piece of
data to draw out an annotated parcel map.
Surveyors appreciate IcoMap's automatic parcel closure feature, which closes
parcels according to set tolerance levels without altering the original
linework layer. Surveyors may also choose to generate a closure report,
which displays northing, easting and total closure errors for each course
and calculates the parcel's area and perimeter, total closure error and
closure error ratio.
Since its release in 1999, IcoMap has won several awards for its design,
including the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) New Product
Award for 2001, and the 2001 TitleTech Discovery Award for the best new
software application for the title insurance and settlement services industry.
IcoMap may be purchased in both single-user (node-locked) and floating
license configurations. A single "floating" license allows the application
to be installed on multiple systems but only one user may run the program at
a time. For a limited time, IcoMap 3 for AutoCAD is available in the "floating"
license configuration for $650.
All IcoMap products come with 30 days of free technical support. Additional
support options for IcoMap 3 for AutoCAD include $50 for a 30-minute
"getting started" call with technical product specialists and $150 for a year of
technical support, maintenance and upgrades. IcoMap 3 for AutoCAD
requires AutoCAD 2000 or 2000i or AutoCAD Map 2000 or 2000i.
