GIS leader commits to strengthen industry collaborations as part of strategy to improve worldwide GIS sales

Paris, August 29, 2001 GeoConcept, European leader in geographical information systems, announces today the appointment of Jérôme Vialar as partnerships manager. In this new position, Jérôme Vialar will have responsibility for building up further partnerships in France and worldwide in order to increase sales of GeoConcept¹s GIS system, and intelligent geomarketing solutions. GeoConcept already exports more than 50% of its licenses. The new post will involve strengthening and developing GeoConcept¹s international partnership policy in the areas of technology and distribution.

"Partnerships are necessary to the growth of GeoConcept," says Eric Lanzi, Chairman of GeoConcept. "The thought and attention that goes into obtaining these has enabled us to secure a position on the world market and to develop made-to-measure solutions tailored to fit local environments. We have complete confidence in Jérôme¹s experience and in his ability to manage the complications involved in collaboration strategy."

Jérôme Vialar, 40, was previously Accounts Director for the systems integrator, Syntegra, part of the British Telecom group. Whilst there, he managed several high-level clients, notably within the field of CRM, such as BNP-Paribas and Natexis. A graduate of the Franco-British and Franco-Spanish Chambers of Commerce, he has broad technical and sales experience. Previous positions include business engineer within the GFI Informatique Group, manager large accounts at American Express, and sales engineer at Apple.

"Joining the GeoConcept team means working for one of the key independent French software publishers - this is what first attracted me to the company," said Vialar. "My new responsibilities at GeoConcept give me the opportunity to directly contribute to reinforcing this leadership position, in France as well as internationally. Apart from the technical quality of GeoConcept software, which is in my opinion the best GIS system available, I am greatly impressed with the quality of their management team," he added.
