GeoBusiness Solutions, a market leader in site location and market analysis consultancy for the retail, leisure and property industries, welcome a number of new staff to their Buckinghamshire offices. Steven Halsall, Director, said, "GeoBusiness Solutions have seen excellent growth in terms of personnel since our initial inception in 1998, and this has gathered pace recently with the recruitment of 7 new personnel since the start of the year. Our team is expanding in terms of skills and experience and this is reflected in an increasing client base and reputation within the industry".

Ian Milligan joined GeoBusiness after recently returning from Australia. He will be developing both web-based GIS internet map server applications and client applications using mapping components. Ian will also be involved in the design and implementation of large-scale spatial database systems.

With 5 years GIS experience as a GIS Analyst for Exploration and Mining Consultants in Perth, Australia, he brings experience in spatial data integration, visualisation and application development. He is also very well qualified for the position, having completed a BSc (Hons) in Geography and an MSc in Geographic and Geodetic Information Systems at UCL.

Andrew Hyman joined GeoBusiness Solutions in July 2001 bringing a varied background and skill set to the organisation. He is joining GeoBusiness Solutions to provide support to the Retail Modelling team and will also provide expertise in GIS application development and multivariate statistical analysis. Andrew joins from SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, now GlaxoSmithKline, where he was a Business Analyst responsible for the implementation of database and statistical analysis projects to address a variety of sales and marketing problems. This included development of customised GIS solutions, intranet based map reports and sales territory restructuring. He revitalised and promoted the use of GIS technology and introduced innovative and industry-leading systems across various business sectors as well as providing statistical insight to the business.

Blair Freebairn joins GeoBusiness from Rank where his final role was Market Information Manager for the Gaming Division. This role involved managing all market research, location planning and market intelligence for both the Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casinos brands. In addition Blair was a key member of the strategic planning team and carried out numerous studies on new market entries, service/product development, and new media gaming.

At GeoBusiness Blair will add primary market research expertise as well as an 'operators eye' to client projects. In addition Blair will be using his experience of integrating research, intelligence and GIS outputs and placing them in the broader commercial context.
