GeoBusiness takes on more staff

GeoBusiness Solutions, a market leader in site location and market analysis
consultancy for the retail, leisure and property industries, welcome a number of
new staff to their Buckinghamshire offices. Steven Halsall, Director, said,
"GeoBusiness Solutions have seen excellent growth in terms of personnel since
our initial inception in 1998, and this has gathered pace recently with the
recruitment of 7 new personnel since the start of the year. Our team is
expanding in terms of skills and experience and this is reflected in an increasing
client base and reputation within the industry".
Ian Milligan joined GeoBusiness after recently returning from Australia. He will be
developing both web-based GIS internet map server applications and client
applications using mapping components. Ian will also be involved in the design
and implementation of large-scale spatial database systems.
With 5 years GIS experience as a GIS Analyst for Exploration and Mining
Consultants in Perth, Australia, he brings experience in spatial data integration,
visualisation and application development. He is also very well qualified for the
position, having completed a BSc (Hons) in Geography and an MSc in Geographic
and Geodetic Information Systems at UCL.
Andrew Hyman joined GeoBusiness Solutions in July 2001 bringing a varied
background and skill set to the organisation. He is joining GeoBusiness Solutions
to provide support to the Retail Modelling team and will also provide expertise in
GIS application development and multivariate statistical analysis.
Andrew joins from SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals, now GlaxoSmithKline,
where he was a Business Analyst responsible for the implementation of database
and statistical analysis projects to address a variety of sales and marketing
problems. This included development of customised GIS solutions, intranet based
map reports and sales territory restructuring. He revitalised and promoted the
use of GIS technology and introduced innovative and industry-leading systems
across various business sectors as well as providing statistical insight to the
business.
Blair Freebairn joins GeoBusiness from Rank where his final role was Market
Information Manager for the Gaming Division. This role involved managing all
market research, location planning and market intelligence for both the Mecca
Bingo and Grosvenor Casinos brands. In addition Blair was a key member of the
strategic planning team and carried out numerous studies on new market entries,
service/product development, and new media gaming.
At GeoBusiness Blair will add primary market research expertise as well as an
'operators eye' to client projects. In addition Blair will be using his experience of
integrating research, intelligence and GIS outputs and placing them in the
broader commercial context.
