LEICA NAMES NEW DEALER FOR GPS/GIS PRODUCTS

Leica Geosystems has announced the appointment of Kunde Company, Inc., as a
dealer for Leica GPS/GIS products in the upper Midwest.
Kunde Company will be responsible for sales and service of Leica's GS50
GPS/GIS data acquisition system and GIS DataPRO(tm) software, as well as
other Leica terrestrial data collection systems. The company will also use
Leica's products for its own fieldwork on behalf of GIS customers.
Based in Roseville, Minnesota, Kunde Company is a leading natural resource
consulting firm with 20 years of experience serving customers in the upper
Midwest. Kunde is one of the largest forestry-consulting firms in the
region. The company also provides GIS-based asset management and mapping
services for a variety of applications. Kunde is a co-developer of
INVENTREE, a community tree inventory software package that can integrate
with most GIS software.

Leica's GPS/GIS business group, based in Torrance, California, develops,
manufactures and markets a full range of GIS data collection products using
the GPS satellite network. Products include the 0.5-meter GS50 system for
primary data collection applications and the 1-2 meter GS5+ system for the
secondary data collection market. These tools, coupled with Leica's
proprietary GIS DataPRO(tm) office software package, offer innovative and
flexible GPS/GIS data collection solutions for a wide range of industries.
The Leica Geosystems GIS and Mapping Division, headquartered in Atlanta,
Georgia, is a leading provider of integrated end-to-end solutions for the
acquisition, processing and 3-D visualization of spatial data. The division
encompasses the operations of ERDAS, Inc., and LH Systems, which were
acquired by Leica in April 2001, along with Leica's GPS/GIS and LIS business
groups.
