Richmond, Indiana Selects Woolpert for Implementation Plan Development

Indianapolis, Indiana (September 25, 2001)... Woolpert LLP has been
contracted by Richmond, Indiana, to create an implementation plan (IP) for
their geographic information systems (GIS) department. The goal is to
provide an IP to input the city's storm and sanitary data into their GIS
system.
The project will consist of interviews of the sanitary, storm, engineering
and city and county GIS departments. The recommendations from the interviews
will include: manpower needs for collecting data and populating the
database; database maintenance of the GIS data; hardware/software needs; and
the use of mobile solutions for field crews.
The final portion of the recommendation will include how the data can be
used, and the impact this will have on the manner in which it is entered
into the system. In addition, the IP will include various options of global
positioning sytems (GPS) facility inventory and inspection and overall
management of data once it is accomplished.
Woolpert LLP is a professional engineering/architectural consulting firm
