Richmond, Indiana Selects Woolpert for Implementation Plan Development

Jump to Website Here
Indianapolis, Indiana (September 25, 2001)... Woolpert LLP has been contracted by Richmond, Indiana, to create an implementation plan (IP) for their geographic information systems (GIS) department. The goal is to provide an IP to input the city's storm and sanitary data into their GIS system.

The project will consist of interviews of the sanitary, storm, engineering and city and county GIS departments. The recommendations from the interviews will include: manpower needs for collecting data and populating the database; database maintenance of the GIS data; hardware/software needs; and the use of mobile solutions for field crews.

The final portion of the recommendation will include how the data can be used, and the impact this will have on the manner in which it is entered into the system. In addition, the IP will include various options of global positioning sytems (GPS) facility inventory and inspection and overall management of data once it is accomplished.

Woolpert LLP is a professional engineering/architectural consulting firm providing expertise in facilities planning and design, geographic information systems/information technology, photogrammetry, site/civil design, surveying/global positioning systems, transportation, and water management.
