TORONTO, Sept. 25, 2001--AirIQ Inc., a wireless application service provider
specializing in mobile asset management solutions, announced today that Dunkin' Donuts' distribution arm has
selected the AirIQ solution to protect and manage its fleet of distribution vehicles in the south-eastern United
States.
"Our mission is to expedite and simplify the purchasing and distribution of product for Dunkin' Donuts
franchisees," said Jack Welch, Vice President and General Manager. "AirIQ gives us visibility of our fleet in
real-time, so we can ensure on-time delivery to our franchisees. With 61 weekly routes and US$2.5 million
in rolling inventory, we run a complex operation. Also, much of our cargo is perishable and AirIQ's Reefer
Fault Alert service helps us protect those goods - it warns us of a failure in a refrigeration trailer, allowing us
to act before goods spoil."
"This contract with Dunkin' Donuts adds to our record subscriber acquisition in the second quarter," said
Donald E. Simmonds, President and CEO of AirIQ. "Based upon actual shipments to date, second quarter
revenue represents a 26 per cent increase over Q1 and a 208 per cent increase over the same period last
year. AirIQ's momentum is building at a remarkable pace."
Based in Forest Park, Georgia, Dunkin' Donuts Southeast Distribution Center is the distribution arm of
362 Dunkin' Donuts locations across the southern United States, from Texas and Oklahoma east to South
Carolina and Florida. This agreement will see AirIQ's vehicle location and management solution installed in
all of Dunkin' Donuts Southeast Distribution Center's tractors, straight-trucks, dry vans and refrigerated
trailers.
Dunkin' Donuts is the largest coffee and baked goods chain in the world, providing its loyal customers
with high quality coffee, bagels, donuts and other related baked goods since 1950. With more than 5,000
combined locations in the United States and 38 countries around the world, Dunkin' Donuts has established
a worldwide reputation for quality, freshness and convenience. Dunkin' Donuts is based in Randolph, MA,
and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allied Domecq PLC.
"Hundreds of Dunkin' Donuts franchisees and millions of their customers count on the Southeast
Distribution Center to deliver product in fresh condition," said Simmonds. "By combining AirIQ with their
efficient operation, Dunkin' Donuts will realize increased levels of service and enhance their ability to deliver
perishable goods safely."
AirIQ develops and markets a location information service for the efficient management of mobile assets.
The solution is used today in a variety of vehicle fleet enterprises including commercial transport fleets, the
service industry and rental vehicles. AirIQ's broad suite of services includes vehicle location, boundary
notification, Reefer Fault Alert and automated inventory reports, all will be used by Dunkin' Donuts
Southeast Distribution Center.
