Numerex Signs GPS Agreement With InterTrak -- Numerex to provide wireless data network solution
and 30,000 units for InterTrak(SM) GPS customers

ATLANTA, Jan 9, 2002 -- Numerex Corp. (NASDAQ: NMRX) today announced that its subsidiary, Numerex Solutions LLC, has reached
an agreement to supply Cellemetry(R)-enabled wireless products and services for the deployment of InterTrak's GPS Satellite Tracking System throughout
North America.
InterTrak chose Numerex because of the ubiquitous network coverage provided by Cellemetry, Numerex's wireless data network service. "The aggressive
expansion of the Cellemetry network will have strong impact on market acceptance of our service platform," said Edward Muldowney, President of InterTrak.
"As the most comprehensive wireless data network service in North America, Numerex's Cellemetry service will allow seamless coverage for the InterTrak
system."
Cellemetry provides two-way, wireless data connectivity for a variety of machine-to-machine communications that remotely monitor, measure, or track fixed
and mobile assets. The Cellemetry patented technology has been licensed to strategic partners and application developers providing a broad range of
solutions available across North America, the Caribbean, Puerto Rico, with ongoing expansion into South America.
In addition to the contract for wireless network coverage, Numerex will provide an initial production run of 30,000 units to InterTrak over the calendar year
2002. "Our network coverage and integrity, coupled with InterTrak's GPS service, will add important customer benefits, enhance already high customer
