DRG Clip -- Clipped Files

Once the DRG Clipper Process has completed the new "Clipped" 24K DRG files can be added into ArcView as Image Themes.

Adding Clipped 24K DRG (Image) Files as Theme(s) into ArcView

The user can add one or more of the clipped 24K DRG files into ArcView using the Add Theme Button shown below. Please remember that the clipped files will be located in the same directory as the original unclipped 24K DRG Files.

Once the user adds one or more of the clipped 24K DRG Themes into ArcView the display should be similar to the example shown below.

The clipped 24K DRG files will have a Black shadow around the outside edge of the file(s). The Black shadow is the area that has been calculated during the Recode process covered earlier. If the user selected to Recode this area with the 255 option it can now be made transparent using the Make Clipped DRG Overlap Transparent button located next to the DRG Clipper Button.

The selection of the Make Clipped DRG Overlap Transparent Button will automatically display the clipped 24K DRG file without the Black shadow.

Please reference the "Transparent Option" Section for instructions on making the clipped 24K DRG transparent.
