DRG Clip -- Getting Started

The DRG Clip Extension provides an ArcView GIS ready, easy-to-use tool thats enables the user to clip and remove the border (collar) of selected 2K DRG files. The DRG files to be clipped must be in the UTM coordinate system. Data originating from the Teale Data Center in Albers projection will not work with the DRG Clip Extension.

Following are the initial steps required to successfully use the DRG Clip Extension program:

(Step 1) Download the DRG Clip Extension ZIP file to your local hard drive.

(Step 2) Uncompress the DRG Clip Extension ZIP file onto your local hard drive.

The DRG Clip Extension ZIP file should uncompress into the following two files:

(Step 3) Copy the DRG Clip Extension program to the ArcView EXT32 Directory.

Copy the DRGclip2.avx file to the C:\ESRI\AV_GIS30\ARCVIEW\EXT32 directory on your system (Default ArcView Install Directory).

If ArcView wasn't installed into the default installation directory on your desktop please follow the appropriate path to the EXT32 directory.

(Step 4) Adding the DRG Clip extenion within ArcView.

Once the DRGclip2.avx file has been placed in the ArcView EXT32 directory you will be able to activate the application.

Simply follow the steps below to add the DRG Clip program as an active extension within ArcView (Please remember that ArcView will need to be started after the DRGclip2.avx file was copied to the ArcView EXT32 directory).

Select File/Extensions

Scroll and Select (check) the DRG Clipper 2.0 Option

The two (2) DRG Clip buttons will be added to ArcView (Directly adjacent to the HELP Button).
