Ocean for Toddlers

Marble Jets

Suggestion Allow your child to chase the water jets and encourage the child to try and jump on the water. Ask where the water went and where the child thinks the water will appear next.
Concept The toddler anticipates where and when the marbles of water will jump from below the vents.
Fact Between 18 and 24 months, toddlers will search for a hidden object such as the water, certain that it exists somewhere. This belief that an object still exists when out of sight is called object permanence.

Build a Fountain

Suggestion Help your child to build a water pathway using the various pipes to achieve different results.
Concept The toddler can work on his hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills while building water pathways.
Fact Children begin by simply rotating an object, then progress to moving it and holding it with one then two hands until they can use it as a part of a sequence of actions to achieve a goal.
