Girls Explore Engineering
A Workshop for Grade 6-8 Girls  |  November 1, 2008

Do you know middle school girls who like science, math, and solving problems? Do they love challenges? COSI hosts this event annually to introduce young girls to new and exciting career fields.

Girls Explore... Engineering! is a fun-filled day of hands-on activities and informative sessions led by women in a variety of engineering disciplines.

Participants will:
Explore the world of engineering with women engineers from throughout Ohio. Learn how engineers are involved with buildings, the environment, consumer products, medical research, and more.
Work with other girls to solve an engineering challenge
Talk with young women studying to be engineers and find out how and why they made their career choice
Have a great time learning about engineering and meeting new friends!


For Girls:  Explore... Engineering!

 
  • Check-in at 8:30am and conclude at 3:15pm
 
  • Cost = $15
 
  • Includes lunch, a souvenir T-shirt, plus other take-homes, and admission to COSI's exhibits after the program
 
  • A limited number of scholarships are available.


For Parents:  How to Grow Your Own Engineer!

 
  • Check-in at 8:30am and conclude at 3:15pm
 
  • Cost is $15 and must be paid at time reservation is submitted
 
  • Includes presentation, lunch, a panel discussion with local women engineers, a presentation by Girl Scouts-Seal of Ohio Council on staying tuned-in to middle school girls, and admission to COSI's exhibits.
 
  • A limited number of scholarships are available.
