Autodesk University and GIS User Conference Bring Together Customers and Partners to Explore the Latest Industry and Technology Trends

Design Industry’s Premier Learning Events Welcome Engineering and Design Professionals from Around the World

Autodesk University, Las Vegas, Nevada, November 27, 2001—Autodesk, Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK), the world’s leading design software and digital content company, today convened Autodesk University® and the GIS User Conference, the principal learning events and user conferences for civil engineering, GIS, manufacturing, architecture, engineering, and construction professionals worldwide. Autodesk University brings together the company’s vast community of customers and partners for an in-depth look at design technology that helps customers solve industry-specific problems and increase productivity. Throughout the week, conference attendees, together with Autodesk leaders and technology partners, will meet to share best practices and discuss the technology trends and issues that are at the forefront of the industry today.

“Autodesk University is an exciting conference because it offers us an opportunity to get close to our customers and share ideas in an environment that is designed to foster innovation and creativity,” said Doug May, vice president of Americas at Autodesk. “After nine years, Autodesk University continues to be the design industry’s leading conference, providing a forum for our customers to discover exciting new technology that helps solve problems and take them into the future with a competitive edge.”

Conference Highlights

With access to more than 200 classes taught by industry experts in areas such as manufacturing, building design, CAD management, and design visualization, conference attendees can explore technology solutions that meet their specific business and design needs. Experts will also be on hand to discuss hot topics such as making the move from 2D technology to the latest 3D technology, how to evaluate current software and move to a more customized, industry-specific solution, and how to move from interactive customer support to the benefits of Autodesk’s 24-hour-a-day online user community, Point A.

In addition, attendees can participate in hands-on labs, tutorials, and night owl courses, as well as visit the Autodesk University Exhibit Hall, where more than 60 exhibitors display the latest design solutions from Autodesk and its partners.

Keynote Speakers

This year at Autodesk University, conference attendees will hear from Autodesk executives including Carol Bartz, who will discuss extending digital design data across the enterprise and beyond.

Using technology demonstrations and customer case studies, Autodesk executives will discuss how the company is addressing our customers’ business and technology concerns. Attendees will get a sneak peek at the latest solutions and learn how to gain a competitive edge in this increasingly difficult economy. Main-stage keynote speakers include Scott Borduin, Autodesk’s chief technology officer; Phil Bernstein, vice president of the building industry division; Larry Diamond, vice president of the geographic information systems division; and Robert Kross, vice president of the manufacturing division.

Autodesk GIS User Conference

Also featured this year at Autodesk University is the GIS User Conference, offering attendees more than 45 sessions addressing their specific needs in mapping, civil engineering, and infrastructure management. Sessions will cover a wide array of topics, including data integration and mobility, maintaining data accuracy, and getting the most value out of digital design data.
