AUTODESK SHOWS INDUSTRY’S ONLY END-TO-END ENTERPRISE GIS

will showcase its Geographic Information Systems (GIS) solutions at the GITA 2000 Annual Conference
next week. Through industry-focused technology demonstrations and presentations, Autodesk will
demonstrate how integration and flexibility are at the core of its vision for the seamless flow of spatial
information throughout the enterprise.

Autodesk® PowerLine First Showing: Enterprise Portal for Electric Utilities
Autodesk PowerLine is a Web-based enterprise portal solution that ties the applications of an electric utility
company together using a centralized, map-based user interface for Web access to customer service and
outage data. Based on the Autodesk MapGuide® platform, PowerLine Web enables database and mapping
information, providing full integration of AM/FM/GIS information with other business data and enabling
thousands of users to access enterprise information concurrently to gain an up-to-date and comprehensive
view into every aspect of their business operations.
“Electric Enterprise” Demo: Autodesk and ABB Link Geospatial IT with Enterprise Operations
As competitive pressures increase, IT managers are becoming more systematic in their approach to
planning and executing new technology implementations. Autodesk and global technology leader ABB
will demonstrate the business benefits of integrating geospatial IT with enterprise operations such as outage
management for the electric utility industry.
Enterprise Data in the Palm of Your Hand
Autodesk will preview its mobile enterprise business system that delivers interactive, high-precision map
and design information directly to the point of work via handheld devices and a true client-server
architecture. Solutions built with this technology help industries with large mobile workforces such as
telcos and utilities gain competitive advantage through faster decision-making, reduced operational
expenses, and improved customer service. This technology will be launched in spring 2000.

Autodesk iBooth is the company’s GITA trade show booth on the Web at www.autodesk.com/iBooth. GIS
professionals who are not able to attend the show in person can visit the iBooth free during March 27-29.
Visitors can view the future of GIS with live demonstrations for enterprise GIS, Web-based GIS, and
mobile solutions as well as industry-focused presentations.
