TPLG unveils Topology Manager v2.0 & the Topology Toolbox v3.0
Denver, Colorado - TPLG Foundations announced immediate availability of its Topology Manager v2.0 at
the 23rd Annual GITA conference. This software component library now enters a new
range of development environments. TPLG also released its latest end-user application
the Topology Toolbox v3.0, as well as, an alpha version of the same in the COM
compliant environment of MapObjects.
Version 2.0 of the Topology Manager includes architectural, scalability and robustness
enhancements. The revised architecture implements a more extensible, component-based
interface, which means that the Topology Manager can be more acutely tuned to our
customer's requirements.
Tim Trietley of Apex Data Services, Inc., one of TPLG's first customers says, "I was most
impressed by TPLG's vision. They really understand the applicability of topology to real
world situations. Our partnership with TPLG will substantially improve our
competitiveness and the quality of the work that we produce. Their component has
become a cornerstone of our strategy."
He adds, "The Topology Manager has a powerful API which lets me create and manipulate
topology easily and quickly, allowing me to greatly enhance the abilities of our data
conversion production software."
"The Topology Manager has now been made available through the industry standard COM
interface making it accessible to applications using Visual Basic, Visual C++, Delphi,
PowerBuilder and a host of other COM compliant languages. In addition, there are
thousands of other COM components available that can be combined with the Topology
Manager to rapidly produce powerful applications like Tim has done," comments TPLG's
Chief Technology Officer, Brian Peters.
Previously available as a native binary library (DLL) or as a MicroStation Dynamic Link
Module, the Topology Manager is now accessible from within the range of Autodesk,
Bentley, ESRI, Intergraph MapInfo, Smallworld and Visio products.
"Component software development is about making functionality as widely a vailable as
possible," declares David J. Lewis, TPLG's Chief Executive Officer. "Today's
announcement significantly enlarges the audience of developers and end users who can
benefit from the state-of-the-art technology provided by the Topology Manager and
Toolbox. Our mission is to enable new applications by releasing the intelligence hidden in
data."
"GITA marks the perfect opportunity and audience to release our latest version of the
Topology Toolbox, which is our offering to the end-user world," says Mark McGovern,
TPLG's Manager of Sales & Marketing. "Version 3.0 of the Toolbox features tools to
assist with network planning and management through the use of buffer and/or exclusion
zones."
