Science at Your Fingertips

Toddler Outreach, Science at Your Fingertips allows children to explore science, create, build, and manipulate materials. This is a 45 minute program that can accommodate up to 15 toddlers, ages 18-36 months. It consists of an interactive-read aloud, group activity, and hands-on activities. All activities are developmentally appropriate and encourage both fine and gross motor skills.

  • Grade Level: 18-36mos

Space

Toddler Outreach, Space is designed to introduce children to outer space. This is a 45 minute program that can accommodate up to 15 toddlers, ages 18-36 months. It consists of an interactive-read aloud, group activity, and hands-on activities. All activities are developmentally appropriate and encourage both fine and gross motor skills.

Sheep Brain Dissection

Discover the world of our brain and experience your lobes in action! An experienced COSI Team Member will lead your class through a dissection of a sheep brain in order to better understand how your own brain functions. Lasts one hour and accommodates 35 students.

  • Grade Level: Grades 6-12

Science Sleuth

Someone stole the camp snacks, help us find them! Dust for fingerprints, analyze handwriting, test ink samples, learn about DNA, and piece together clues to solve the mystery of the Great Snack Theft! Includes admission to The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes.

COSI will host the second annual Catalyst Luncheon as a culmination of the 50th celebration. Catalyst is an opportunity to showcase COSI’s mission and vision as well as highlight outstanding leaders and partners. Nearly 500 businesses and community leaders are expected to attend. Special guests will be invited to a gathering of gratitude before the luncheon including: founding families, major benefactors, commemorative sponsors, longtime board members and current board and executive leaders.

Salicylate Sleuths

Students discover products lurking in their home that may contain the medicine salicylate. Concepts: chemical reactions, medication safety, personal health.

  • Grade Levels: Grades K - 5
  • Number of Students: 12 - 18 per session

Superbug Sleuths

Students test if products such as toothpaste, hot sauce, and chicken noodle soup actually kill germs. Concepts: bacteria life cycle, disease transmission, personal health.
