Columbus Mini Maker Faire

This Saturday is our third annual Columbus Mini Maker Faire. We've been hard at work behind the scenes to create a quadcopter battle arena, and taking classes with our neighbors at The Columbus Idea Foundry. I'm really excited about the lineup - our Mini Maker Faire is growing!

We Have a Plan!

Something else we've been testing - the signage for the Planetarium.  It looks like we have a "Plan" but don't worry - we will have the full Planetarium soon.

Collecting Darters

In late September, Marc Kibbey (Associate Curator of the Fish Collection at OSU) and I went in search of more darters for our exhibit in Lily Pad. We used a net underneath the Dodridge Bridge, and had Jenna (my current Living Collections Assistant) walk upstream to stir up the bottom where the darters like to hide. The current of the river carried the darters along with other species into our net. Aside from collecting some more rainbow and greenside darters, we were also able to collect some bluebreast darters to add to our collection.
