Los Alamos Fire
June 1, 2000 - Fire is still active within containment lines along the western portion with
crews unable to make direct access due to vertical topography.
For today, continued mop-up and strengthening of fire line on the west side between
Cerro Grande and Santa Clara Canyon.
Work has begun on the Burned Area Emergency Rehabilitation Team efforts
focusing primarily on disaster preparedness/mitigation efforts related to monsoon
rains that begin in late June/early July.

rehabilitation of the area burned. The fire is expected to be contained by 06/06

Fire personnel: 24 crews, 9 helicopters, 11 engines, 6 dozers, 5 water tenders.
Total 763 personnel
Containment: 95%
Expected Containment: 5/24
Size: 47,650 acres
Vegetation type: Mixed Conifer, Ponderosa pine, Pinyon Juniper and Grass
