January 2001 Gujarat, India Earthquake - This disaster has left a trail of destruction killing tens of thousands and an even larger population is displaced and missing. It has been noted that the major flaw in the disaster management and relief work has been poor flow of information rather than short supply of relief materials. Megavision Technologies has made a small attempt to help by putting up a website which can become the meeting place for lost loved ones, the people seeking help and agencies wanting to help. The website is www.megtech.com
  • If you are looking for your loved ones, you may find them here.
  • If you know about anyone in Gujarat or migrated from Gujarat, please add the information on the site for others.
  • If you have any help to offer please offer on the website first. Rushing the help aimlessly may not reach to the most needy hands
  • If you are anywhere in Gujarat put your name and address on the site, someone in the world may want to know about you

Residents along the East and Gulf Coasts and in the Caribbean Islands should brace for an expected above-average 2000 Atlantic hurricane season, according to a forecast issued today by NOAA scientists. The forecast indicates stronger, longer-lasting storms are possible and warns some could pose a threat to land during the hurricane season, which begins June 1.
