ETAK TO BRING REAL-TIME TRAFFIC INFORMATION TO VOLTDELTA DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE SERVICE
Agreement will Enhance 411 Services Nationwide with Real-Time Traffic Reports

MENLO PARK, Calif., Feb. 28, 2000 - Etak Inc., a worldwide publisher of digital map databases, location-based technology and traveler information services, today announced that its industry-leading technology for generating and reporting driving directions and its Etak/Metro Networks real-time traffic service have been licensed to VoltDelta for inclusion in its directory assistance technology platform.

VoltDelta, a worldwide provider of directory assistance and operator-based information system solutions, will integrate Etak’s real-time traffic information into its InfoExpress service offering.

InfoExpress addresses the traditional 411 standard directory assistance inquiry, as well as new information requirements of the upwardly mobile wireless customer. The service provides operator access to enhanced databases, which contain information on topics frequently requested by customers. InfoExpress provides weather, sports scores, movie information, local events, restaurant reviews, ski reports, airport delays, as well as business telephone listings much like traditional Yellow Pages. The service provides quick and easy retrieval of geo-coded business listings to provide the business closest to the customer. The new VoltDelta alliance with Etak adds real-time traffic and driving directions, door-to-door across the United States.

According to Terry Smail, Etak’s senior vice president for sales and marketing, Etak’s traffic service, which covers 60 metropolitan areas nationwide, offers the most comprehensive and accurate traffic information in the industry. "VoltDelta is joining a long list of industry-leading vendors who have selected the popular nationwide service."

Cecelia Pfeiffer, marketing director for VoltDelta, explained that the coverage and detail of the Etak/Metro service was a primary consideration in the selection of the service. "To provide traffic information to our clients nationwide, we needed to license a service that could provide detailed and accurate information in the greatest number of markets possible. Etak was the perfect fit."

Etak’s traffic service offers detailed real-time traffic information covering major streets, highways and interstates nationwide. The Etak/Metro traffic information service provides complete incident reports, including a description of the problem, expected duration of the problem and degree of impact on traffic, where traffic will be affected including direction of traffic, and traffic speeds where available. This empowers travelers to make more intelligent, informed travel route decisions.

Motorola, Saraide, Cue Paging and 3Com are among the companies currently distributing Etak/Metro Traffic.
