Mobile GIS
ESRI's ArcPad software enhances handheld, portable touch screen computers with vector and raster imagery providing users
with the custom form filling capabilities, real time positioning and a variety of display and query functions.

Operating System requirements:
Windows CE 2.11, Windows 95/98, NT, and 2000
CPU Chips for Windows CE, Hitachi SH3 and SH4, StrongARM, MIPS
Supported Data Formats:
ESRI shapefiles,MrSID by LizardTech, JPEG, Windows bitmap, and CADRG
Projections supported:
Geodetic coordinates,(latitude/longitude),Universal Transverse Mercator(UTM),
Gauss–Kruger, Lambert Conformal Conic, Cylindrical equal area
Map navigation:
Zoom in/out/extent and pan.
Zoom or pan to selected features.
Feature and attribute identification.
Hyperlink to external files (photographs, documents, video).
Measure distance, area, and direction.
Save map layer and style configurations.
Scale-dependent layer display.
User-controlled symbology.
Editing and Data Capture:
Create, edit, delete, and move shapefiles.
Use input from pen, cursor, or GPS.
User-defined input forms.
Database-oriented.
ArcPad has been developed specificaaly for the Windows CE environment and will run on
a variety of palm, handheld, notebook, and pen computing devices. Additionally, ArcPad can also be integrated with an optional global positioning
system (GPS) or differential global positioning system (DGPS). An ESRI white paper released in
