GIS in Canada...eh!

Disease Surveillance On-Line www.hc-sc.gc.ca/hpb/lcdc/webmap/ is a gateway to a vast amount of medical data and statistics compiled by Health Canada and the Health Statistics division of Statistics Canada. Users can easily harness the power of geography and GIS to quickly produce mortality and incidence maps for a number of health related diseases and conditions.

Cancer Maps - the most current cancer statistics in Canada with maps of Canada that display cancer incidence by geographic locations. there's also Cancer Mortality Maps, Incidence Charts, Mortality Charts, and a glossary. Mapping is available at Provincial level and by Census Division.

Cardiovascular Disease Maps - look at trends for cardiovascular disease mortality and hospital separations by province and territory, by age group, over time.

Notifiable Diseases On-Line - information on the number of cases reported for several of the notifiable diseases as well as their rate in the population. The data are available for each province and territory for each year starting at 1986 up to the end of 1997 and will be updated as each year of new data becomes available.
