The ZIP + 4 Product File enables businesses with computer capabilities to add ZIP + 4 codes to their address files. The ZIP + 4 file contains approximately 30 million records and is available in its entirety or by selected states. Mailers must purchase or develop their own matching software in order to use this file.
The ZIP + 4 file is available on DVD on a monthly or quarterly basis. The changed ZIP + 4 Code information is available monthly. The ZIP + 4 product contains raw data and does not contain any software.

Sammamish Data Systems

ZCTAs
The Census Bureau has developed a product known as ZCTAs.
ZCTAs are not U.S. Postal Service ZIP Codes. ZCTAs are approximate area representations of United States Postal Service (USPS) ZIP
Code service areas. The U.S. Census Bureau has created ZCTAs to meet requests by data users for statistical data by ZIP Code area. The
term ZCTA was originated to differentiate between true USPS ZIP Codes and these approximations.
