Autodesk - Reports from Autodesk Corp. have revealed to us that Larry Diamond will be leaving his post at Autodesk in order to take up a position on the East coast with Atlanta-based S1 Corporation (http://www.s1.com), a maker of enterprise software for financial institutions. His last official duties with the company will be at Autodesk University, taking place early in December in Las Vegas, NV. Best of luck to Mr. Diamond from the GeoCommunity. (11/12/02)

Before joining Space Imaging, Deal was president, chief executive officer and founder of LizardTech, Inc. 2002 Google Programming Contest Winner - Daniel Egnor was recently selected as the winner of Google's 2002 Programming Contest competition, and the recipient of the $10,000 cash prize. Daniel's project adds the ability to search for web pages within a particular geographic locale to traditional keyword searching. To accomplish this, Daniel converted street addresses found within a large corpus of documents to latitude-longitude-based coordinates using the freely available TIGER and FIPS data sources, and built a two-dimensional index of these coordinates.
