Michelle Schmitz Joins Solid Terrain Modeling as Vice President of Marketing and Licensing

FILLMORE, Calif., April 25, 2001--Solid Terrain Modeling Inc. (STM) announced that the company has appointed Michelle Schmitz as vice president of Marketing and Licensing.

STM is a developer of patent-pending 3-D physical terrain map and model manufacturing processes and proprietary physical image transfer and printing software for the 3-D mapping and modeling industry.

Schmitz comes to STM from CrossCheck Inc. where she was vice president of Partner Relations for the financial services company. Schmitz was instrumental in recruiting, training and supporting a network of independent and field sales offices around the United States.

In addition, she developed and marketed a private label partnership program. Schmitz was part of the sales management team at CrossCheck for more than ten years and previously served as National Sales Manager. Under her leadership, sales representation grew by 34%. Prior to her experience in the financial services industry, Schmitz was the Marketing Manager for the Guam Visitors Bureau, promoting Guam as a viable tourist destination.

The revolutionary STM system is a combined manufacturing process and software package that integrates Computer Aided Design (CAD), Global Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technology to decipher digital elevation data and control a patent-pending cutting machine that produces precise 3-D models from high-density foam or other durable materials. A unique advanced color printing process transfers exact color images to a 3-D physical terrain surface.

Schmitz will guide the nationwide marketing, brand management and licensing of the STM technology. STM models are used by the United States Department of Defense, federal, state and municipal agencies, law firms, emergency response groups, land management offices (construction, civil engineering, real estate and recreational) and developers, transportation agencies, utilities (oil, gas and hydro) and architects.

STM's global business strategy is to accelerate its marketing, licensing and sales program to concurrently produce 3-D maps and models and provide government, business and voluntary sector sources with an opportunity to purchase custom 3-D models or license its patent-pending manufacturing, equipment and software package for diverse industrial applications.
