TADPOLE-CARTESIA APPOINTS REGIONAL GIS BUSINESS DIRECTOR
Edinburgh, December 21, 1999 - Utility field information systems vendor Tadpole-Cartesia today announced the appointment of Dr. Mark Ketteman to the new position of business director for the European and Australasian markets.

A graduate from the Department of Mining Engineering at Nottingham University, Ketteman's early career spans various technical and sales positions with surveying, mapping, GIS and CAD vendors. Appointed business manager for Conic Systems in 1997, he developed a world-wide channel of specialist integrators for the company's core Conic GIS product, a pen-based field data capture information system that puts a broad range of corporate GIS and works management data into the hands of field workers.

Conic Systems was acquired by Tadpole in early October 1999 and integrated into its Tadpole-Cartesia division. The acquisition reflected Tadpole's stragetic goals of becoming the vendor-of-choice to the world's utilities and telecommunications industries. It also provided Tadpole with an enlarged customer base within the utilities and telecommunication industries, as well as complementary technologies, skills and solutions.
