Daily Itinerary for Adults (3½ hours)
Progress (30 minutes)
Adults will have a blast-from-the-past in Progress. Travel through time and learn about our future from our past. In this exhibit you can interact with the people of a small Midwestern “town” and the technology of their day in 1898.
Then, turn a corner and find yourself a generation later in 1962 in that same town. From telegraphs to television, Morse Code to telephones, farmer’s market to TV dinners, Progress will transport you to another time and place.
Spirit Show (15 minutes)
Ever wonder why we're afraid of strange stuff? Why our bodies do all sorts of weird things when we're afraid? Why you're freaked out by something your friend thinks is really cool? Ever wonder where fear comes from? Or do you just feel like having a good laugh? Then come to the Life Stage at 3:30, (2pm on Sundays) where you'll learn all about fear in under 15 minutes!
High Wire Unicycle (15 minutes)
This is a COSI can’t miss, even for adults! Fulfill a dream of riding high over the crowds at COSI as you make a trip across the spacious Atrium traveling on one thin wire. Riders must weigh no more than 250 pounds.
Life (30 minutes)
Take a stroll through life as you know it. This exhibit tells the in-depth story of you. From birth to death, and many steps in between, Life explores what makes us human. View surgery, see decomposition in action, age your face, play tricks on your mind, and make some interesting body noises.
Extreme Screen Theater (45 minutes)
Adults will enjoy this can’t miss at COSI. This 7-story Extreme Screen and theater put you in the center of the action and brings you as close to reality as you can get without leaving the theater. Nature, History, Science and Extreme Sports are just a few of the themes that bring the magic of the movies to life with breathtaking cinematography.
Global Weather Show (15 minutes)
Our Global Weather. This interactive presentation lets you see weather simulated right before your very eyes. A COSI Team member offers live demonstrations, accompanied by a dramatic video presentation from WBNS 10TV Chief Meteorologist Mike Davis.
Watch a cloud form above your head; see the amazing force of a hurricane as a pencil is drilled through a piece of wood, as you learn how the ocean impacts our everyday weather.
Ocean (30 minutes)
Adults will dive right in and learn about underwater technology and how the Earth and Oceans work together to create our environment. Enter a research habitat and use real technology such as submersibles, sonar, and remote-operated vehicles to explore the wonders of the worlds under the sea.
Space (30 minutes)
Adults will enjoy a history lesson in our manned space programs through interactive exhibits and unique artifacts. Sit down and take a break to watch NASA-TV with interviews, documentary clips, and more to put you right into the final frontier.
