Objective
Manage the COSI Experience Testing Station
Education and Experience
a. Experience with social science research including methodology, data collection, and data analysis.
b. Good organizational skills.
c. Ability to communicate well with COSI team members and general public.
d. Ability to write and format basic documents.
Essential Job Functions
The COSI Experience Testing Station (ETS) is a simple, flexible, mobile area that is used to test concepts and ideas, and to prototype activities and other experiences with guests at COSI. Experience Testing Station research projects are very small, quick-turn projects, often completed within a week of conception. Under the direction and supervision of COSI’s Director for Research, the intern will:
Meet with internal clients (COSI Team Members – usually project managers) to assess need and develop research question(s) and instruments.
Determine staffing needs for ETS projects; negotiate assignments with internal client
Set date for ETS data collection based on client need, facility requirements, and other research activities
Organize logistics for ETS projects including:
Arranging staffing
Work with COSI team regarding ETS location and set up
Communicate ETS activities to COSI Team through various in-house media
Participate in data collection; train and supervise data collection staff
Analyze data
Write brief; debrief with client
The level of responsibilities within these duties will depend on the skill and experience of the intern.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of Strategy Team Members, the Strategy Team Intern duties may include:
a. Data entry.
b. File management.
c. Other research-related duties as assigned (e.g., assisting with secondary research, literature views, data collection for other projects).
