Objective
To provide an opportunity for the intern to get hands-on, real-world exposure to non-profit marketing and assist the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications in marketing special events and the Extreme Screen Theater.
Education and Experience
a. Marketing or Communications major – Junior or Senior Level
b. Highly organized and detailed oriented
c. Proficient in Internet-based research
d.Comfortable making calls to potential partners and/or organizations
e. Knowledge of Social Media tools a plus
Essential Job Functions
DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: Serve as the Marketing Team Industry Research Intern by conducting research on other museums and other organizations on best practices in areas such as social media, ecommerce, theater marketing and other benchmark data. In addition, this internship would support the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications with developing and implementing marketing plans for films and special events during the term of the internship.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of Senior Director of Marketing & Communications duties may include:
a. Updating COSI’s social media channels about films and theater events
b. Creating niche marketing campaigns for films, exhibits, special events
c. Potentially help staff special events and film openings(arranged in advance and mutually agreeable as it may require some weekend hours)
d. Administrative support of the Senior Director of Marketing & Communications as needed.
